The University of Nebraska Technology Park is the first planned business campus in Nebraska striving to provide the best place to begin or to relocate your technology-focused company.

The Technology Park features:

  • Amenities and services for both new and established technology companies;
  • A successful business incubator program in the Technology Development Center that is designed to support and guide start-up companies;
  • Available office and lab space for lease at highly competitive rates within One Technology Place, a modern multi-tenant building;
  • Many building sites for additional multi-tenant buildings or stand-alone companies.

The University of Nebraska Technology Park is a cooperative partnership of the University of Nebraska Foundation, University of Nebraska and private sector investors. Founded in 1996, the Technology Park is now home to 19 companies and organizations that employ 1,366 people.

The park provides access to university resources, technology transfer assistance, research funding resources, highly competitive lease rates, professional office services, high-speed data services, and on-site expansion and building options.

The successful business incubator program housed in the Technology Development Center assists clients in launching new software, engineering, business services, biotechnology and electronics firms.

Mission

The mission of the University of Nebraska Technology Park is to:

  • Encourage the transfer of technology from the University of Nebraska to the marketplace
  • Foster close interaction between businesses located in the park, the university and the private sector
  • Nurture start-up and emerging technologies
  • Promote economic development in Nebraska

Facts 

  • The park is situated on more than 150 acres of prime real estate adjacent to I-80 and the Lincoln airport, positioned minutes from downtown and the University of Nebraska.
  • The park is currently headquarters for 18 companies and organizations.
  • Affiliated companies employ 1,360 full and part-time people.
    • Projected employment by November 2010: 2,600
  • Between 1997 and 2006, the park helped launch 30 new companies, including 18 software firms, four engineering firms, four business services firms, three biotechnology firms and one nanotechnology firm.
  • Ten firms have graduated from the park’s successful incubator program, including Covalent Technology, Dynamic Solutions, GeneSeek, CIS Workshop, i2rd, MetaLogic, Midwest MicroSystems, Safety by Design, Specialized Network Systems and Unident.
  • Current park tenants include spin-off companies from the university, local and regional technology companies and national technology firms.
  • The park is a limited liability corporation and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Nebraska Foundation. The foundation, together with the support of private companies and many individuals, chartered the Tech Park because of the many benefits it affords the state.
