The University of Nebraska Technology Park continues to transform. Remodeling of the Collaboration Building (CB) wing of the Technology Development Center began in January. The remodeling project created additional space to accommodate the growth of two companies: Z3 Technology, LLC and Eide Consulting Group.
Z3 Technology moved next door to office CB 105, on January 30. After Z3 relocated, Eide Consulting Group began moving their staff offices to CB 103. The area previously used for office space in CB 109 has been converted into an additional laboratory space. This project began February 2 and was completed by mid March.
It is no secret the global economy has taken a downward spiral. Many businesses have needed to downsize and cut budgets in order to stay afloat. Elmer Eide, vaccine consultant and CEO of Eide Consulting, said the economy hasn’t hurt daily operations. In fact, Eide says his company is taking on more business. “Our projects are long term,” he said. “We work less expensively and better than most companies can internally.”
Eide Consulting Group offers contract vaccine development for the animal health industry. The company alleviates many intricacies businesses face in the modern veterinary vaccine industry. This includes regulatory mandates, self-imposed quality concerns and new scientific discoveries and technologies.
Eide Consulting expanded their lab space to accommodate their increased work load which includes: mycoplasma testing, sterility testing, virus isolation and the creation of florescent antibody regents. In order to provide the best research possible, more laboratory hood space and clean cell space were needed. Eide Consulting’s expansion also included the addition of two new research scientists, Janet Claycomb and Roger Nolte.
Z3 has also added to its staff. Cameron Hill is Z3’s newest employee.
Z3 designs, develops and manufactures software and hardware for consumer electronics. This includes digital signal processing, proprietary algorithm development, wireless integration, hardware design and system integration. Z3 specializes in system design, prototyping and mass production.
