For the first time in 20 years, all Lincoln-based Dell Perot Systems insurance employees are working in the same building. Construction of the new facility completed at the University of Nebraska Technology Park, employees began their transition to the new building at the start of October. David Ricketts, of Dell Perot Systems Insurance Solutions, says he expects all employees will be fully moved in by the end of January. Having everyone under the same roof will greatly improve efficiency. Steve Frayser, president of the University of Nebraska Technology Park, said the consolidation under one roof of all the company’s local operations represents an ongoing commitment to continue their presence in Lincoln.
The new facility houses two divisions: Insurance and Business Solutions and Infrastructure Solutions (IS). The IS division is a new operation for Nebraska, and will bring around 150 new jobs to Lincoln. Dell Perot Systems has already begun interviewing and hiring new employees to fill these high-tech positions, which will provide units systems engineering and administration, server administration, messaging, storage management and network engineering services. The new office building is expected to house roughly 900 associates once the IS division is fully staffed. The Dell Perot Systems employees are, according to Ricketts, the most valuable asset to the company, which is the largest employer in the Tech Park.
“We are most proud of the people,” said Ricketts, “We recognize that each person on our team plays a vital role in our success and the success of our clients. We have a talented group of associates who strive to provide the best possible service to our company and our clients.”
Such talent and value has only been increased through the merger of Perot Systems and Dell. The result is a combining of the best services capabilities of both companies to produce a technology services portfolio that surpasses others in the industry. Dell Perot Systems expects the union to open doors for exceptional growth and expansion. In an earlier interview, Ross Perot Jr., chairman of the board at Dell Perot Systems, said,
“When my father founded Perot Systems he envisioned a global information-technology leader. The new, larger Dell builds on that promise and its own successes by taking Perot System’s expertise to more customers than ever.” With the merger and the new office, Dell Perot Systems is open for business.
